IFS and EMDR Therapy Online Across BC

Jennifer Taylor, M.A., RCC (she/her)
Internal Family Systems Therapist (Level 3) · EMDR Therapist

I help adults across British Columbia work through trauma, CPTSD, and long-standing patterns that talk therapy alone hasn’t fully shifted, using two of the most effective evidence-based approaches available: Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR. This process-oriented work is helpful for people who are ready to actually shift what’s underneath, not just talk about it. Sessions are offered online, with in-person availability by request.

Is This You?

  • You’ve tried talk therapy before, and understood your story intellectually but something in your body or your reactions hasn’t shifted.
  • You notice parts of yourself that take over: the part that shuts down, the part that people pleases, the part that can’t stop working, the part that panics.
  • You can trace a lot of it back to childhood or family patterns and you’re ready to actually work with that, not just talk around it.
  • You’re not looking for a quick fix; you want real, lasting change, even if it takes time.

If any of that sounds familiar, IFS and EMDR were built for exactly this kind of work.

How I Work

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and non-pathologizing. You are never broken, just carrying protective patterns that once made sense and can now be gently updated.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand and work with the different “parts” of yourself such as the protector, the inner critic, the wounded younger part, so they can unburden old pain instead of running the show.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain fully process traumatic or distressing memories, so they stop feeling as raw, intrusive, or present.

I often draw on both within the same course of therapy, tailoring the blend to what each client needs.

Also Supporting

While trauma and CPTSD are my core focus, I also work with:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Relationship difficulties, divorce, and separation
  • Life transitions and grief
  • Eco-grief and climate anxiety
